Bayer's recent FieldView release turns farm information into answers
November 14, 2024
St. Louis, November 14, 2024 – Bayer today announced new Climate FieldView™ features to help customers transition from 2024 harvest to 2025 planning. These new capabilities can provide better understanding of how seed, fertility, and crop protection applications impact yield, as well as the ability for farmers and their trusted advisors to quickly access valuable insights "at a glance."
Historically, farmers have had to dig through their data looking for trends, outliers, and opportunities. This can be tedious and time consuming. Your Farm at a Glance is a new feature that provides a summary overview of a farm operation and quickly surfaces valuable insights such as harvest progress, average moisture and yield, top performing hybrids and varieties, as well as top and bottom performing fields.
"Assessing product performance relative to rainfall or farm average allows us to make decisions moving into the next crop season," said Justin Marchino, a U.S. digital enablement lead in Bayer's Crop Science division, who also uses FieldView on his family farm in Vincennes, Ind. "Your Farm at a Glance highlights that information in a very clean, user-friendly presentation."
While Your Farm at a Glance removes clicks by providing a valuable summary overview, Yield Analysis by Application is helping customers dig more deeply into their data. Providing a field-level analysis of the various crop protection and fertility products applied throughout the season, customers can better evaluate the performance of those products and their return on investment.
"It allows me to really drill into the data for a field to field and trial comparison," said Canadian farmer Chris Waldenberger, from Moose Jaw, Sask. "It can help me with harvest reporting and a has a lot of great reporting options."
Once initiated by their farmer customers, dealers and retail advisors can also gain access to insights from both Your Farm at a Glance and Yield Analysis by Application.
"We recently fielded a survey which gathered feedback from 2,000 farmers around the world. Among those using digital tools, farmers overwhelmingly reported improved crop yields, cost savings, and improved crop quality," said Brandon Rinkenberger, Chief Customer Officer for Climate LLC and Digital Farming at Bayer. "The ability to use data to drive decisions has become very powerful for our customers, and we will continue listening to them, responding to their feedback, and delivering capabilities that improve their FieldView experience.
FieldView is the flagship product of Climate LLC, the digital farming arm of Bayer. First launched in the United States and Canada, FieldView is now available in 23 countries on more than 250 million subscribed acres, providing farmers a deeper understanding of their fields so they can make more informed operating decisions to optimize yields, maximize efficiency and reduce risk.
